I Ran the Omni Disk Sweeper, and just at a quick look i found some games and stuff that i had deleted but the "data" or whatever is still in the harddrive, i could easily clean up 10-20GB but that still doesn't explain the other 350GB in the "other" storage, im going to keep looking through this and see what else i find. When did you restart your Mac the last time? A restart often helps wonders (Temp files, Ram etc.) "Cleaning" stuff is not needed in most cases. If you have just added huge sample libraries that need to be indexed by Live, the indexing can take a long time & slow down your system! (In Activity Monitor you would see the "Ableton Indexer" process consuming big amounts of CPU) Other – every other document and file type on the Mac, including archives, zip files, docs, txt, pdf, dmg and other images like iso, saved messages, quite literally everything else, similar to “Other” in iOS First thing you should do, when your Mac feels slow:Ĭheck your system in Activity Monitor (Applications/Utilities): How to use Activity Monitor - Apple Support (enough RAM - anything hogging CPU etc.)
